Terms and Conditions

  1. Eligibility: The T-shirt design competition hosted by Arlene's is open to all artists, creatives, and designers living in New York State’s Capital Region, aged 18 or older.

  2. Submission Guidelines:​​

    • Open to all artists, creatives, and designers living in New York State’s Capital Region, aged 18 or older.

    • Each person must submit a portfolio of five images of your recent work that show your style and a cohesive body of work.

    • All artwork must be original and must be made by the individual applying.

    • Files must be a minimum of 300 dpi CMYK.

    • Label files in the format: FirstLastName_Title.jpg or FirstLastName_Title.png

    • Artwork that violates copyright infringements will automatically be dismissed

  3. Submission Process:

    • Portfolios of artwork must be submitted through the online application form unless authorized by Arlene’s.

    • Arlene's staff will select the winning artist/designer from the application pool.

    • The winning artist/designer will be commissioned, based on the rate in their application, to create a design for use by Arlene's on merchandise for the store. Winning artist/designer will be announced on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The winning artist/designer and Arlene's will negotiate a contract for the commissioned design. 

    • The design created by the winning artist/designer will be revealed at the Opening Party for the 3x3 at Arlene’s on Friday, July 12, 2024, with merchandise featuring the winning design available for purchase at that time.

  4. Prize:
    • The winning artist/designer will be commissioned, based on the rate in their application, to create a design for use by Arlene's on merchandise for the store.​
  5. ​Important Dates:
    • Call for Artwork Deadline: Saturday, 4/27/2024, by 5 pm (EST)

    • Winning Artist/Designer Announced by Saturday, May 11, 2024

    • Design by Winning Artist/Designer Revealed: Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Opening Party for the 3x3 at Arlene’s.

By submitting artwork to the competition, participants agree to these terms and conditions. Arlene's reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not adhere to these terms and conditions.
