Student Art Show

Arlene’s Artist Materials, the Atelier at Arlene's, and R Gallery at Arlene’s are thrilled to announce the return of our Fourth Annual Student Art Show. This group exhibition will proudly showcase artwork created by individuals who have attended classes or workshops with the Atelier at Arlene's. The show will be held at the William K. Sanford Town Library (629 Albany Shaker Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211), providing an ideal space to celebrate the creativity and talent of our students. The Student Art Show is a platform for honoring the artistic achievements of our community members, offering participants a chance to display their work in a professional setting.

This exhibition is open to all students who have attended or are currently enrolled in a class or workshop at the Atelier at Arlene's. We welcome artwork in any medium and from all creative expressions, making this an inclusive celebration of our diverse artistic community. The show also offers an opportunity for art lovers to enrich their personal collections while supporting local talent.

 

Join us for the Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. The awards will be announced during the reception, and the exhibition will remain on display through February 27, 2025. The exhibition is free and open to the public. The William K. Sanford Town Library is open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm, Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Please note that availability may vary with library events, so we recommend contacting the library for more details.

Arlene’s Student Art Show Submission Guidelines

 

Eligibility:

  • Open to anyone who has taken or is currently enrolled in a class or workshop at the Atelier at Arlene’s.

 

Artwork Requirements:

  • All artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist.

  • Work does not need to be created during a class/workshop or in the medium of the class/workshop.

  • Any media, theme, and style are allowed.

  • Artists may submit one piece of artwork.

  • There is no size requirement.

 

Submission Process:

  1. Online Form Submission (Required):

    • All artists must complete an Online Submission Form before the drop-off. Form closed Thursday, January 30, 2025.

    • The form will ask for:

      • A photo of the artwork

      • Title, medium, dimensions, year created, and price  (remember to include the 40% commission to R Gallery at Arlene’s).

    • Artists must also agree to our Terms and Conditions to participate.

  2. Labels:

    • Information from the online form will be used to create artwork labels. These labels will be matched to each piece during drop-off.

 

Show Location & Timeline:

  • Exhibition Venue: William K. Sanford Town Library, 629 Albany Shaker Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211.

  • Artwork Drop-Off: Friday, January 31, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

  • Show Installation: Friday, January 31, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.

  • Artwork Pick-Up: Friday, February 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

 

Framing & Presentation:

  • All artwork must be:

    • Properly framed and wired with secure hanging hardware.

    • Clip frames or frames with saw-tooth hangers will NOT be accepted. No exceptions.

  • Each piece must have a label on the back with (NOTE: This info needs to match the info provided on the online form):

    • Artist’s name

    • Title

    • Medium

    • Price

    • Artist’s email address and phone number

 

Sales & Commission:

  • Artists will receive 60% of the sale price. A 40% commission goes to the R Gallery at Arlene’s.
