3x3 at Arlene’s supporting our community for the 6th year.

Let's make this 3x3 at Arlene's the best one yet. ​

The 3x3 at Arlene’s is an annual fundraising exhibit that brings together hundreds of original artworks created and donated by local professional artists, creatives, and community members. Each piece is a 3” x 3” square, signed on the back, and exhibited anonymously. There is no limit to how many pieces people can donate, and all artwork will be available for purchase at just $10 each, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting a local non-profit whose mission is to positively impact the New York State Capital Region.

 

This year, Capital Roots was selected as the 2025 beneficiary, receiving an impressive 42.6% of the votes. Capital Roots works to reduce the impact of poor nutrition on public health in New York’s Capital Region by organizing community gardens, increasing access to fresh and healthy food, offering nutritional and horticultural education, and leading urban greening initiatives.

 

The 3x3 at Arlene’s is free to attend and family-friendly, and there is no limit to how many pieces you can buy. The event kicks off with an Arlene’s Members-Only Preview on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4:30 – 5:30 PM, followed by the Opening Party on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 2:30 – 5:30 PM. Artist names will only be revealed at the end of the exhibit when buyers collect their purchased work.

Here's how it works:

• All flat or two-dimensional artwork must be 3”x3”, and sculptural or three-dimensional pieces must be 3"x3"x3”.

• All mediums are welcome.

• Each piece needs to be legibly signed on the back.

• All artwork is a donation and will be sold for $10 as a fundraiser for Capital Roots.

• All artwork must be able to displayed on a wall (NO MATS OR FRAMES).

• Artwork drop-off location: Arlene’s Artist Materials, 57 Fuller Rd Albany, NY 12205. The deadline for submission is Saturday, June 14, 2024, by 5 PM (EST).

• All artwork must be accompanied by a completed 3x3 at Arlene's Artwork Entry Form.
